Lead Engineer
You own core product development, working directly with the CEO. No PM layer, no ticket queue, no translation loss between a customer conversation and what gets built.
The platform exists and it works. Your job is to own it, extend it, and build the mechanics the company compounds on.
§ 01 What You'd Own
The surface area.
- Onboarding and activation. The path a new brand takes from signup to getting value, and making it shorter.
- The attorney-facing legal module. The workflows franchise counsel work in, on documents that carry legal consequence.
- The multi-tenant data model. Row-level security across parties who are each entitled to a different slice of the same document.
- The instrumentation. Activation, time-to-value and conversion.
- Production. Root cause through fix.
§ 02 What We're Looking For
Who this fits.
- Several years shipping production SaaS end to end. You've owned features from database to UI to deploy, not one layer of someone else's stack.
- Full-stack range across Next.js and Supabase — frontend, backend, data model, auth.
- Active, current fluency with Claude Code or a comparable agentic tool. Not enthusiasm — judgment. We'll ask you to walk through a real feature you shipped that way, including where the tools failed you.
- A bias toward shipping small and fast over designing for scale we don't have yet.
§ 03 Helpful, Not Required
Nice to have.
- Early-stage experience as one of the first engineers on a team.
- Compliance-adjacent engineering. We're working toward SOC 2 and you'll help get us there.
- Interest in vertical SaaS or regulated-industry software.
§ 04 Compensation
What it pays.
$140,000 – $160,000 base, plus meaningful equity
